Christine Alfano is known for her innovative and engaging productions that challenge the operatic status-quo.
She is passionate about telling old stories in novel, thought-provoking ways. Additionally, she particularly fond of collaborating with composers to create productions that fulfill their unique artistic vision.
This season, she directed the workshop of Horned and Hidden Child by Mikeila McQueston, winner of the pristigeous Dominick Argento Fellowship for Opera Composition. Summer 2022 featured her international directing debut in Vienna, Austria with the world premiere of Pluto by Michael Polo.
